The pieris right outside my bedroom window, in full flower red tips slowly turning green and panicles of silvery white bells. Very attractive to bees and birds.

One bird that I have still not identified makes a habit of hopping around in the branches, pecking on the window and I'm sure he is yelling at me to get up, but it is about 5.30 when all the fuss is being made. He is around during the day.
A local name for it is joe wicky.
